Watch the video of the army band entertaining the school today. It was a great treat for everyone to hear such an array of instruments being played so well. Our new stage was put to great use as the children could see all the instruments clearly.
A special thanks to Miss Fitzpatrick for organising this special treat.

Last week 5th and 6th class went to the Dáil. After a tour of the Dáil and Seanad we enjoyed our lunch on the grounds of Trinity College. Hopefully some of these 67 pupils will be students there some day. Thanks to the Lotto fund for this trip.

Today we had a visit from Signal Master Darren Carrie and Sergeant Brendan Clarke.
They presented us with the national flag and a copy of the proclamation.
The proclamation was read out by Eve Leacy and Signal Master Darren Carrie. We have to now write our own proclamation.
Billy Meagher told us all about his great, great, great, great grandfather William Francis Meagher who designed and came up with the idea for the Tricolour flag.
He told us of how he was in France and saw their flag and realised we needed a flag for Ireland, this happened in the mid 1,800’s and it wasn’t until after the Republic was established that this flag was again used as our national flag.
