Over the last number of weeks we have been working on the Gymnastics element of PE.
We have been learning about different jumps. How to make a jump longer or higher. We moved in different directions and pathways too. Upper body strength is important too and we learned the caterpillar and bear walks as well as lots of donkey kicks.
This week we got into groups to make up a sequence incorporating these elements.

Lots of the girls in our school were dancing at the weekend. Well done to all the girls on all the fantastic achievements! There is amazing practising in the yard every day so no wonder there was so many trophies and medals.

Every week there is Active Homework instead of written work.
Here are some ideas:
Turn TV breaks into fitness time, do jumping Jacks, Tricep dips, even some burpees!
Take the dog for a walk.
Practise the bear walk, caterpillar walk or donkey kick.
Teach your parents a dance from GoNoodle.

Today we played some co-operation games. We observed and reflected upon how we got a better result when we did not rush and supported and encouraged each other. It took quite a bit of concentration also.

We have been learning about weight and capacity in maths. In English we are currently writing stories for the topic that we are on which is narrative writing. For our art we have made 3D planets using balloons, flour and water as a paste, newspaper and paint. We have already done a Space project ( the universe space, not the Personal space! ) it was really fun!✏️✒️☺️✒️

We’re learning about the instruments of the orchestra. We made some shakers, violins, guitars, cellos and drums.

With Mrs. Mulkern’s help we made delicious scones. We’ve started to add bigger numbers and soon we will be able to regroup.
